A ret gel 0.1 tretinoin is a prescription medication used to treat acne. It belongs to the retinoid drug class and is effective at both preventing and healing pimples. It can also be used to reduce the signs of ageing such as facial lines and sun spots, as well as to treat alopecia and other types of hair loss alone or in combination with other topical treatments.
Administration and Dosage
Always use it as directed. Never self-medicate or adjust your dosage unless specifically instructed to do so.
Always thoroughly wash your hands and the area of skin you are treating before applying A-Ret Gel (Tretinoin) and allowing them to air dry. Patients are usually advised to use the cream once per day, either in the morning or late at night before going to bed. Apply it away from your eyes, mouth, nose, and inner ear. It should not be used on skin that is damaged, broken, or burned.
It may take 8 to 12 weeks for the effects of this medication to become apparent.
Adverse effects
Stinging sensations, skin peeling, and skin redness are all possible side effects. If any of these side effects persist, worsen, or cause concern, contact your doctor as soon as possible. Seek medical attention right away if you have skin crusting, swelling, excessive redness, blistering, rashes, hives, chest pains, difficulty swallowing, or trouble breathing.
Precautions
Use this medication only as directed by a doctor or dermatologist.
Cosmetics may be applied to the treated area in general. However, you should always check with your doctor to see if this is the case with the products you use. Always remove all cosmetics before using this cream.
This product can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Avoid excessive sun exposure and apply plenty of high-factor sunscreen when necessary. While taking this medication, avoid using tanning booths or UV lamps of any kind.
Tretinoin (A ret gel) may not be appropriate for all patients. Before starting this medication, notify your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and provide full disclosure of any of the following conditions that apply to you:
- Any allergies you might have
- Any other medical conditions or illnesses you have
- Any other medications or drugs you’re taking (including all non-prescription medications).
- If you are taking any vitamins, dietary supplements, or herbal products.
